Between Alarms Training Solutions
Providing quality training for the Volunteer Fire Service

This isn't your "usual seminar"
Between Alarms Training Solutions is bringing a great training opportunity to the field.  Introducing Survival Skills Development for the Interior Firefighter.  This seminar is a "train-the-trainer" style program which will ready participants to bring two exciting drills back to their department.

The seminar is about three hours in length which includes the background of how and why the drills were developed, the motivational points for firefighter participation, a review of the PowerPoint and lesson plan, and a demonstration of the practical skills component.  At the conclusion of the seminar each participant will leave with a CD with all the information to be able to conduct the drill at their department, and maintain quality training records.

LESSON # 1

We consider the portable radio an important part of our essential equipment.  But how well do we know the radio we use?  This drill will stress the need to know the portable radio "like the back of your hand".   JPRs from NFPA, current Thompson-Delmar FireFighter 1 curriculum, NOISH reports are used as the foundation for this drill.  This lesson and practical skill is designed to improve the firefighter's confidence with the operation of their portable radio.

Whether you are the seasoned veteran or the new firefighter this training will be a challenge, as well as a humbling experience for many.

LESSON # 2

Keeping the concept of "outside the box" training, Lesson #2 is designed to increase the firefighter's confidence in the use of ropes, specifically knots.  Using current Thompson-Delmar Firefighter 1 curriculum, and NFPA JPRs, this drill will increase awareness and confidence to an area of training often overlooked.

This drill has something for the Rope Guru in your department, as well as the the guy who has trouble tying  his shoes.

Both lessons are fun, fresh, and meet or exceed recognized minimum standards for training.  You wont find this type of training, or support with any free on-line drill sites.
